If you would like to start a graduate or professional degree
program, but don't have the necessary science prerequisites, you
may complete that coursework in National University's Prerequisite
Program (offered on the Lombard, Illinois, site only).
If you have a bachelor's degree, but don't have
all the necessary science required for admission to your intended
graduate/professional program, you may enroll in the Prerequisite
Program to complete those courses.
If you do not have a bachelor's degree, you
should enroll in NUHS' Bachelor of Biomedical Science Degree
Program where you can earn both your required science courses and
BS degree for admission to our chiropractic and naturopathic

Courses are generally offered in a traditional 15-week term,
although some are offered in two accelerated 8-week sessions
allowing you to complete two-part course series in one term.
Classes are scheduled on weekday evenings with some courses
available online. Each class allows you to earn a full three or
four semester hours of credit, depending on its required laboratory
The Prerequisite Program allows you to get to know the National
University professors and become familiar with the campus before
taking a full schedule of graduate degree coursework. This will
make for a smoother transition to the first professional programs
and provide an advantage as you begin your advanced degree.
Students enrolled in the Prerequisite Program are eligible for
on-campus student housing and may receive financial aid if all
eligibility requirements are met.
We also welcome students intending to pursue graduate or
professional programs at other schools. Taking preparatory science
coursework at a dedicated health science institution like NUHS,
allows you to learn with others who have similar medical and health
science career goals.
